As a Pagan all my adult life, I have to say I'm thrilled to see real Paganism entering novels. For so long, the only view of our lives in fiction was stereotype, old wives tales, and untruths spread by... well we know who. It's about time readers got a glimpse into the real world of Paganism! Thank you and the other authors showing our reality!

You are far more proactive with finding indie and small publisher authors. I would LOVE to clone you Cathie, but I really appreciate your "reader opinion". I just had a HUGE reply to your post and it disappeared, saying error and i didn't copy first, sigh..But basically I was saying that I love the small pubs and Indie pubs! Especially if I know about them. Many of the small pubs don't put out their newsletters with their releases each week, I can name a few to myself right away, and others are great with that (like Noble always puts out the newsletter of their releases each week!) With there being quite a few different small pubs, I often don't know of them unless I know the author and they informed me with their newsletter of their releases. So there can be new pubs with new authors that I don't know about cuz they depend on the authors to do the promo. I mostly read small pubs and Indie authors now for a few reasons. The awesome variety, my favorite genres (the small pubs and Indie authors listen to their readers while the NY pubs say things like the readers don't want to read so and so and end up not publishing them so I go find them all in small/Indie pubs!) and better prices (sadly I miss many of the big pubs books because they don't give a penny off them in ebook and I can find the same and much better in ebook but I do end up missing some good reads (as well as bad) from this) and of course the fab authors in small/Indie pubs! If you do go to doing your own publishing, I as a reader, love to know about the releases instead of totally depending on the author to promo the books (especially when I might not know the authors and miss it all cuz I have no idea of the releases!) But mostly do what you must for YOU cuz you do alot for your readers so it will work both ways. Know you're appreciated for all you do!
PS So glad to find your post! I miss so much because I not good at knowing how to find all the posts and all. I'm so not techy.

Thanks Bianca, I appreciate the kind words. I really needed a place to express myself and watercolors are very relaxing for me. I feel the same way about a rich plot. I fight to give my readers a deep plot with a terrific sexual romp!

Great post. I agree with you. Although are there plenty of publishers that would like the build-up of erotic tension, not necessarily just sex right away? Yeah, I myself have not wanted to get in the habit of churning out "hot" or "sizzling" page after page without strong characters.

Having spoken with you at length,and read the kind of paranormal knowledge you bring to your writing, I think both situations can exist in harmony.

You have an "aura" about you, even over the phone. Actually, I got strange background noise in my recording that I hadn't had before, though it seems to be more prevalent now as I do more interviews.

My siblings and my grandmother felt the presence of others in her house-heard the footsteps, and saw the woman. It's like it skipped a generation because my mom and aunt, who grew up in that house had no knowledge of such occurrences.

Why can't that be a hereditary trait? And why can't it center in the brain. It would be interesting to put the theory to the test and have a brain scan done when you're relaxed, then when you're in one of the trigger moods. It might answer your question for you. But, for now, I think both of your possible answers are true.
